Our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Muhitdin Yılmaz, and our Secretary General, Şenol Metin, represented our University by participating in the 2nd International Anatolian Academic Studies Symposium (ASAS 2026), hosted by the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As part of the program, our University delegation met with representatives of higher education institutions from different countries and held important discussions aimed at strengthening and developing international academic collaborations.
The symposium, held under the theme “The Balkans in a Changing World: Multidimensional Approaches and Interdisciplinary Perspectives,” addressed the position of the Balkans in the context of changing global conditions from social, political, economic, and cultural perspectives, drawing on a range of academic disciplines.
Sarajevo Declaration on Higher Education Signed
As part of ASAS 2026, the “International Rectors’ Meeting” brought together representatives of universities and academic institutions from Türkiye and various other countries. During the program, our University also signed the “Sarajevo Declaration on Higher Education,” which was prepared with the aim of developing academic and scientific cooperation among universities, increasing joint activities, and establishing lasting partnerships in the field of higher education.
The Declaration aims to promote the development of joint scientific projects, strengthen cooperation among research infrastructures, and expand opportunities for academic mobility.
Academic Cooperation Protocols Signed
As part of the program, academic cooperation protocols were also signed with various higher education institutions in line with our University’s internationalization goals. The protocols aim to facilitate joint academic and scientific activities, develop collaborative projects, support academic and student mobility, and strengthen institutional relations among universities.
Furthermore, during meetings held with representatives of various universities, new opportunities for academic cooperation were discussed. A principle agreement was also reached to strengthen communication among institutions and institutionalize academic collaborations.
